This isn’t about “two car shows and a wedding,” although this past weekend felt like one. Besides, it’s highly doubtful if our cousin across the pond needs any more publicity. However, the Social Diary thought “British Motorcars to Audrain Motorsport” was more appropriate, since this weekend was about ‘Rule Britannia.’
British Motorcars: Car show
The British are coming! And they arrived in Bristol Rhode Island for the annual British car show. This event support local charities. It was a fun and complimentary outing for car enthusiasts, especially craving the British variety. There were vendors on hand with British goods. The Social Diary picked up another delightful teapot to add to our collection.
The next day, it was off Salve Regina and Audrain Cars and Coffee, where Mclaren and Land Rover made a strong showing for Britannia! From British Motorcars to Audrain Motorsport, this past weekend was the place to be.
Audrain Motorsport: Cars and Coffee
Audrain kicked-off their annual ‘Cars and Coffee‘ on April 14th. They celebrated ‘Daffodil Days’ with a parade fit for Miss Daffodil! The love of motorsport and cars continued this past Sunday at one our favourite venues, Salve Regina! That’s where we met Ian and his Ford Model T. Dressed in period attire, this dapper gentleman is a wealth of information. Moreover, his engaging personality easily wins fans and friends.
British Motorcars to Audrain Motorsport
Next to the MINIs, The Social Diary is a Shelby Cobra / AC Cobra admirer. Moreover, this is one of the great British-American pairings in motorsport.
Staying within our British theme, the MG and the Land Rover makes a stellar appearance at Audrain’s Cars and Coffee. Before acquiring a fleet of MINIs, The Social Diary zipped around in an MG during our Uni years. Don’t let the size fool you. They may be small, but they have a mighty punch.
If you enjoy off-roading, you will LOVE a Land Rover! However, unlike their ‘modern’ cousins, the CLASSICS feels all the bumps of the road. But boy, can they hug the terrain! We have family members with a fleet of Land Rovers, perfect for the open English countryside. However, less practical in the tighter streets of Newport, Rhode Island.

Check out the next Audrain Cars and Coffee. Additional, Marble House on Father’s Day is for “Members Only,” but there are plenty more on the calendar. The next British Motorcars event will be held in June 2025, usually on the second weekend.
Our Upcoming Adventures
The Social Diary will miss the Audrain mansion invite, but we will be off on another adventure, so stay tuned for what we discovered. In July, we will attend a major Hollywood film premier. We have not utilised our Instagram social at all, but for this one time, we may be streaming and sending live coverage, so stay tuned.
