The 51st annual LoveBash for Animals took place on Saturday, April 5th at the Wyndham Newport, and raised over $175,000. This event was a celebratory gathering and a “LoveBash for Potter League,” a community staple for animals in need.

Fête Champêtre Garden Party
The fourth Gilded Age Orchestra performance at Rosecliff covered the late 19th century at the end of the Franco-Prussian war. Additionally, the musical selections covered La Belle Epoque (“The Beautiful Era”), an ode to Tabasco and Fête Champêtre (“Garden Party”) at Chateau-sur-Mer.
Black & White Ball: Around the World
The YMCA was a perfect partner for the Ocean House in 2025. The Black and White Ball, Around the World was the theme for the evening’s affair.
Marble House at Newport Mansions
This ‘grand old lady,’ gifted to Alva Vanderbilt for her 39th birthday, started it all, from ‘wooden cottages to opulent stone palaces’. The Marble House at Newport Mansions, for eagle eyed visitors will also delight in the enhanced experience of The Gilded Age.
Ocean House Gallery Reception
The Social Diary attended the Ocean House Gallery Reception in collaboration with the New England Contemporary Fine Art. Some featured artists included Julia O’Malley-Keyes, Sanchitha Vishwanath and Roseanne Cerbo.

Rhapsody in Blue at 100
The Gilded Age Orchestra returned to Rosecliff to celebrate Rhapsody in Blue at 100. George Gershwin’s “jazz concerto masterpiece” however, wasn’t the only programme note. The Orchestra introduced critically successful composers of the day to a new audience.
Thriller Panel Author Series
Most of us can name a handful of authors who dominated thriller and crime fiction. These include Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, John Le Carre and James Patterson. This is a short list, of course. But at the Thriller Panel author series at the Ocean House, a new selection of good reads awaited, with a fresh breed of gifted authors. They may not be household names yet, but given their track record, they are on their way to becoming a household staple.
