Unlocking the Secrets of Dress Code
Fashion Tips and Clothing Trends
Do you wish to fit in or stand out? For this reason, there is a dress code in some social settings. And that’s not a bad thing. Therefore, wear jeans and a t-shirt to the ball park, but a collared shirt and jacket for the private members club. Moreover, fashion can have a dual personality. However, it’s important to identify in which setting fashion is appropriate.
Some people look as if they rolled out of bed and headed to work. Take for instance, the Hope Club in Providence. Sweatshirt on the staff website and yoga pants in the club. Whether you take account of these things, it does matter in the overall scheme of appropriateness. This is especially true if you are considering membership or attending a society event.
Black Tie
What exactly is black tie fashion? Black tie is a specific dress code. Many social invitations will include this dress code. It is always best to adhere to it. You can certainly put your own spin on fashion, but it’s sometimes better to stay within the lines.
Even at the Ocean House, men did not adhere to the black tie dress code, even when advertised. This included the President and General Manager. What does that say, when the leadership doesn’t believe to dress accordingly? That hotel doesn’t do a good job enforcing policy, even when the guest behaves inappropriately.
On The Social Diary, we promote the black tie lifestyle. This doesn’t mean we are always in black tie attire. No, it means that dress code is important to us. Moreover, fashion is important to us. Additionally, always having your best front forward is respecting yourself. That’s why we adore what people wore in previous generations. Have you ever rummaged through your grandmother’s closet?
Fashion Evolution
There is no doubt that trends will continue to change. Society is a walking example of this. Hats and gloves, not for millennials. Ties are not as popular. Soon the business jackets may be out of fashion. Some fashion evolution was beneficial. Take for instance the corset. It was a hideous “contraption” for the female form.
In the 1940s, women actually cared about their appearance. It showed in their fashion sense, their hair, make up and attitudes. People take less care nowadays to put their best front forward.
