The Social Diary periodically “spot checks” The Preserve Resort & Spa, like this “weird” photo (circa 2024) above, submitted by a member. Paul Milhailides is on the left. Moreover, sexual harassment charges were levied at Milhailides by a former employee/consultant. A local reporter confided to The Social Diary that this was the reason for Chef David Burke’s abrupt departure.
Our Preserve story continues to rack up the views on Google, and our highest featured story to date. And we continue to follow up Beyond Yelp. Additionally, our report about Chef David Burke having “left the building” at The Preserve, broke the dam on information overload. We were getting messages from current and former members and employees who wanted to talk about their experiences.
Moreover, this visceral “dislike” for The Preserve is not a new phenomenon either, as we discovered through investigation. In addition, people who really like The Preserve are blind to the “chasm of sham.” However, those who dislike The Preserve had personal experiences that goes beyond a two day stay. They were either employees or members.
Mission Accomplished!
The Social Diary already sent a clear message to the intended. Mission accomplished! Additionally, check out our X and Facebook feeds. You can also send us a private message or DM.
The catalyst for giving one star to The Preserve Resort & Spa was their Annual Members Meeting, where the membership personnel treated us with contempt, rudeness and outright lied. The Social Diary made this crystal clear in the first line of that review, of why they were getting this rating.
If the mixed-used facility feels offended by this review, then perhaps they should look within themselves for the answers. To rudely interrupt members, and to pull them into a meeting to have a “talking down” is not the way to handle a bad review1. Full stop.
The Preserve “media tour” is a sham, with a fake “red carpet” treatment. What you don’t see is what goes on behind the curtain. From members to employees and delivery drivers, people are talking and posting about their experiences. Those who report back what they have experienced are the true stories behind the facade. That’s because they are reporting about their “lived experience.” No amount of positive spin is going to cover up the sham.
Scathing Reviews of The Preserve
The Social Diary discovered over 200 negative comments about The Preserve. Yelp would bury these comments, but other reporting sites have developed complete stories based on personal accounts. That’s why we go Beyond Yelp2.
