The Social Diary periodically “spot checks” The Preserve Resort & Spa. That’s because we were inundated with requests for additional follow ups Beyond Yelp. Additionally, our report about Chef David Burke having “left the building” at The Preserve, broke the dam on information overload. We were getting messages from current and former members and employees who wanted to talk about their experiences.
Moreover, this visceral “dislike” for The Preserve is not a new phenomenon either, as we discovered through investigation. In addition, people who really like The Preserve are blind to the “chasm of sham.” However, those who dislike The Preserve had personal experiences that goes beyond a two day stay. They were either employees or members.
Mission Accomplished!
The Social Diary already sent a clear message to the intended. Mission accomplished! Additionally, check out our X and Facebook feeds. You can also send us a private message.
The catalyst for giving one star to The Preserve Resort & Spa was their Annual Members Meeting, where the membership personnel treated us with contempt, rudeness and outright lied. The Social Diary made this crystal clear in the first line of that review, of why they were getting this rating.
If the mixed-used facility feels offended by this review, then perhaps they should look within themselves for the answers. To rudely interrupt members, and to pull them into a meeting to have a “talking down” is not the way to handle a bad review1. Full stop.
If you are invited on a “media tour” you may experience the “red carpet” treatment. But you won’t see what goes on behind the curtain. Those who report back what they have experienced are the true stories behind the facade. That’s because they are reporting about their “lived experience.” No amount of positive spin is going to cover up the sham.
